We use only Innersense hair products, which we love because they are clean, organic, high quality and some of the most effective on the market.

meet joaquima
Joaquima studied cosmetology at Mixed Institute of Cosmetology, a school that specializes in textured hair care. She also has Advanced (Level 2) Deva training.
Kima has a passion for healthy hair. First and foremost, she focuses on maintaining the health and integrity of every client's hair as if it were her own. She sees herself as a lifelong student of hair, and believes that one always has something new to learn, no matter how long he or she has been in the beauty business.
Kima is a cutting and natural styling specialist, and nothing makes her happier than helping each head of hair to reach its full potential. She LOVES people, so come in and see what she can do for your lovely locks!
what is your approach to covid-19 safety?
We take your health and safety seriously. Our salon is an individual studio, which means the only occupants will be you and your stylist! We also use an air filtration system, have open windows, and require masks. We sanitize thoroughly between clients, so you can relax and enjoy your visit, knowing that we do all we can to ensure a healthy, safe and fun visit.
What’s the parking situation?
Our salon is located on beautiful and bustling Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. Metered street parking and paid lot parking are available. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to secure a spot.
What’s your Cancellation policy?
CURL STORY requires 24 hour notice for cancellation. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hour notice are responsible for payment in full amount of service. A credit card number is required to book an appointment.
